US: Intimate apparel maker Tefron appoints CEO

Tefron has appointed Amit Meridor as its chief executive officer. Meridor will assume the position on 21 January.

Meridor has over 15 years of experience in the textile industry. He was previously CEO for CMT Medical where he facilitated the merger of CMT Medical with a large European electronics and systems company.

He graduated from the Technion Israel Institute of Technology with a BSc in Industrial Engineering. He also obtained an MBA from Tel Aviv University, Israel.

The appointment comes less than a month after principal lenders in Tefron pledged to continue and expand the firm's line of credit in a move that ended a period of financial uncertainty for the intimate apparel and performance activewear maker.
