Textiles and chemical company Invista is planning significant investment to expand its operations in Texas, the company has announced.

Invista, which already employs about 2,000 workers and contractors at three manufacturing facilities and two offices in Texas, will recruit more than 100 new employees immediately, including engineers, maintenance and production technicians.

The company, which owns the Lycra and Cordura brands, is planning to invest in safety and environmental projects, as well as production efficiencies and infrastructure renewal.

“Invista’s Texas assets are critical to the long-term success of our global operations,” said Dave Dotson, senior vice president of operations.

“These investments and the resulting expansion of our employment base in Texas are a testament to Invista’s long-term commitment to our intermediates business and future growth and profitability.”
