US: Invista presents autumn/winter fabric range
By Petah Marian | 24 July 2012
New fabrics for autumn/winter made with Invista fibres by customer mills around the globe include features such as super-stretch, innovative finishing, and wear-enhancing durability.
The fibre firm is showing its collection at the Kingpins Denim Shows in New York and Los Angeles, across three themes: ethnic, ecology, and emerging.
The ethnic range features coloured and printed denims, with its Lycra dualFX fabrics providing "outstanding recovery for super stretch garments", which allows skinny jeans and jeggings to keep their shape.
Invista's ecology collection includes fabrics that combine Invista fibres with denim finishing from technology specialist Jeanologia. One example is Jeanologia's G2 technology which uses less water and chemicals compared to traditional finishing methods. This technology, among others, is featured in fabrics with Lycra Style fibre, Lycra dualFX and Xfit Lycra.
The emerging section includes fabrics made using emerging technologies or emerging geographies like India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. Included in this collection are Tough Max Lycra fabrics, which Invista claims to have up to twice the strength and abrasion resistance of 100% cotton and offer enhanced freedom of movement.
