Fibre producer Invista has announced the European launch of its latest technology for shirting apparel, called Freef!t Lycra fabric.

It follows a US debut at New York Fashion Week in September 2007, and will be made available to consumers in Europe through collaborations with designers Paolo Errico and Tim van Steenbergen.

Errico will debut the Lycra in his 2008/9 autumn/winter collection in his showroom later this month. Prior to launching his own label, Errico worked with designers such as Calvin Klein, Versace, Ermenegildo Zegna and Roberto Cavalli.

Meanwhile, Invista said that the 50's influenced men's and women's shirting collection of Steenbergen for his autumn/winter 08/09 is ideally suited to the new fabric technology, which will debut in his Antwerp showroom.
