US: Invista ups stake in tech apparel maker Ashburn Hill

Invista Performance Surfaces and Materials, a unit of fibre maker Invista, is increasing its investment in flame-resistant apparel maker Ashburn Hill Corporation for the second time in less than two years.

The additional funding comes as Greenville, South Carolina based Ashburn Hill scales up production of its flame-resistant garments for industrial and fire-fighting applications. 

Invista acquired its initial stake in the business in 2009, and since then Ashburn Hill has launched a range of protective apparel developed with its Tecgen fibre.
