Performance wear company Ironclad has appointed Mark R Mackay as VP - international.

In this new position, Mackay will oversee all aspects of international sales operations for Ironclad's performance gloves and apparel.

Mackay joins the business with more than 24 years of sales experience, having most recently served as international president at Under Armour.

He has also worked at companies such as Black & Decker, Reebok and Rockport.

"With his background in the sporting goods and 'do-it-yourself' markets, and his experience building international distribution channels, Mark has the ability to accelerate the growth of our international business and take our franchise to the next level," said Ed Jaeger, president and CEO of Ironclad.

"International expansion, particularly in Europe, is an important building block for Ironclad as we grow beyond our existing markets of Australia, Canada and Japan."

Mackay said Ironclad had "a unique opportunity" in the global performance workwear marketplace.

"The retail workwear market in the US is US$2.8bn, and the opportunity in Europe and other industrialised nations is at least as large and growing rapidly," he added.
