Women's apparel designer and retailer, Jacques Vert, on Tuesday revealed it more than doubled its full-year operating profit to £1.55 million and had enjoyed a strong start to the current fiscal year.

The operator of 160 stores said its profit surged 132 per cent while turnover for the year was flat at £29.6m which it attributed to the ending of agreements with distributors in Scotland and Ireland.

It added total sales in the first seven weeks are up 19 per cent, with sales on a like-for-like basis up 17 per cent.
