Earnings from Vietnamese garment and textile exports to the European Union (EU) totalled US$130 million in the first two months of 2004, the Vietnam Garment and Textile Association (Vitas) has revealed.

According to Vitas, the 28 to 30 per cent year-on-year increase was due to a higher export volume of T-shirts, trousers, synthetic fibres and fabric.

Total turnover from Vietnamese garment and textile exports for the two months, meanwhile, reached US$560m, a 0.5 to 0.7 per cent year-on-year increase.
