COSMOPOLITAN MAGAZINE LAUNCHES FIRST-EVER FASHION COLLECTION AT JCPENNEY

Premiere Collection Offers Lingerie, Sleepwear, Handbags and Footwear

Available Now in More Than 600 Stores Nationwide and on jcp.com

NEW YORK, NY (September 6, 2012) – Cosmopolitan, the world’s largest-selling women’s magazine, has translated its “fun, fearless female” sensibility into a line of lingerie, sleepwear, footwear and handbags exclusively for jcpenney. The Cosmopolitan Collection is available now in more than 600 jcpenney stores nationwide, as well as on jcp.com. This partnership marks the first time the magazine brand has designed and produced merchandise in these fashion categories.

Cosmopolitan’s editorial team closely collaborated with the jcpenney merchant and design teams throughout the creative process. As a result, customers can elevate their style by shopping a new on-trend brand available at jcpenney’s Fair and Square prices.

“Millions of readers turn to Cosmopolitan for insights into relationships, beauty, fashion and health, and our first-ever fashion line celebrates the sexy spirit of Cosmo women everywhere,” said Joanna Coles, editor-in-chief of Cosmopolitan. “We are thrilled to bring our magazine to life through this collaboration with jcpenney.”

The Cosmopolitan Collection, comprising fashion-forward looks as well as wardrobe staples, launches with an extensive lingerie line, sleepwear, handbags and footwear. Each item in the line was uniquely styled by Cosmo and jcpenney, and includes:

Lingerie (from $7 to $25): Flirty and fun, this line of bras and panties is all about attitude. Available in a wide variety of styles, Cosmopolitan Collection intimates make a statement with lots of leopard (natch!), unexpected prints and pops of color.

  • Sleepwear (from $10 to $20): From soft pajamas and satiny robes to nighties and babydolls, these pieces are comfortable for sleeping and stylish for lounging.
  • Handbags (from $30 to $65): No matter the occasion, the purses and clutches in the collection cover all the bases. Fashion-editor chic, while also functional and wearable, Cosmo handbag styles include snakeskin-patterned clutches.
  • Footwear (from $30 to $95): Head-turning heels and boots go from day-to-night, and fabulous flats in on-trend colors are perfect for looking great while you're running errands. Fearlessly fashion-forward, these shoes were designed to make a statement.

“We are very excited to be working with Cosmopolitan to bring our customers a new, contemporary fashion and accessories collection,” said Liz Sweney, chief merchant of jcpenney. “Teaming up with Cosmopolitan, the best-selling magazine in its category and an expert in all things lifestyle, allows us to further cater to today’s women, offering them the best, most on-trend styles, co-designed by a fashion authority.”
