More than 121 jobs have been axed after the administrators of the Original Shoe Company and Qube footwear outlets closed a further ten stores.

The two chains are part of the loss-making lifestyle division of JJB Sports, which called in administrators at KPMG in February and immediately shuttered 45 stores with the loss of 438 jobs.

The latest closures affect eight Original Shoe Company stores and two Qube stores.

Richard Fleming, joint administrator and head of KPMG Restructuring in the UK, said further store closures are likely.

"We are still considering our options and are in dialogue with interested parties for the remaining business. However, the strategy as to the remaining stores is being reviewed on a daily basis."
