USA: Jos A Bank Installs Web-Based Production Software

By | 16 December 2003

Jos A Bank Clothiers Inc has selected New Generation Computing's Web-based sourcing and production system, e-SPS, and shop-floor control and manufacturing execution system, TPM, to streamline and manage its global apparel production.

e-SPS and TPM will provide the sourcing team with the ability to complete steps in the production process in real time via the Internet as well as to gain access to production data from the company's overseas contract manufacturers.

The software enables Jos A Bank to write purchase orders for fabric, track fabric shipments to sewing plants, maintain inventories at all remote locations and receive real-time updates on the status of production.

"As our sourcing needs continue to become more global, it's important for us to continue to improve operating efficiencies in our supply chain and to strengthen communications with producers worldwide," said Frank Barbarino, the men's wear retailer's divisional vice president worldwide sourcing.
