Clothing manufacturer Kitex Garments Ltd on Thursday revealed plans to triple its production capacity over the next two years through a $100 million expansion plan.

The firm, which makes knitted and woven apparel, supplies major international companies such as Wal-Mart, JC Penney and Woolworths and says the investment will create up to 5,000 jobs.

Kitex currently produces more than two million pieces a year but plans to double that total next year and then increase its production to six million pieces by 2005.
