US: Krell adds COO to title at Mothers Work

Edward Krell, executive vice president and chief financial officer of maternity apparel retailer Mothers Work, has added chief operating officer to his title.

Krell has had his most recent post since 2003 and was previously senior VP and CFO. Rebecca Matthias, president, is relinquishing the COO post and adding chief creative officer to her title. 

Krell continues to report to Dan Matthias, chairman and CEO, and Rebecca Matthias.

Rebecca Matthias said the expansion of Krell's title "reflects the broad scope of his current responsibilities and his overall importance to our executive management team.

"Since he joined us in 2002, Ed has played a key role in not only our financial activities, but also in devising and implementing our strategic and operational initiatives…"

Headquartered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Mothers Work operates 1613 maternity locations, including 793 stores, under names including Motherhood Maternity, A Pea in the Pod, Mimi Maternity and Destination Maternity.
