One of Latvia's leading textile companies, Lauma, has reported a 51 per cent rise in profits from 930,000 lats ($1.5m) in 1999 to 1.816m lats ($2.866m) for 2000. In terms of net turnover the company recorded 16.675m lats ($26.3m), an 18 per cent increase on last years figure of around 13.645m lats ($21.5m).
