The president of the Slovak Leather and Footwear Industry Association (ZKOP) revealed on Thursday that its members tripled their pre-tax profit for the first nine months of this year to $8.3million, compared to the year ago period.

Stefan Sulo added ZKOP's revenue rose by 20 per cent to $140m between January and September and said the country's leather and footwear industry was starting to stabilise after many years of uncertainty and unfavourable market conditions.
