Vietnam's leather and footwear exports are expected to surge 22 per cent this year to more than $2 billion as it reaps the rewards of the Bilateral Trade Agreement with the US that was signed a few months ago. Latest figures for the first seven months of 2002 show exports rose 13.8 per cent from the year-ago period to $1.1 billion with exports in July up 18 per cent alone to around $200 million.
