US: Limited lifts quarterly outlook, cuts October comps

Author: | 27 October 2009

Limited Brands Inc, operator of the Victoria's Secret, Pink, and La Senza chains, has raised its third-quarter earnings outlook, but says October same-store sales are likely to be lower than expected.

The company yesterday (26 October) said it now expects third quarter earnings per share between breakeven and a loss of $0.04, up from earlier estimates of a loss of $0.07 to $0.12.

But October comparable store sales are likely to be in the negative low-to-mid single digits, versus its previous estimate of roughly flat.
