Spanish clothing retailer Mango has revealed plans to enter the children's wear and women's activewear channels.

The company has revealed plans to launch the Mango Kids clothing brand, which will be aimed at children aged 3-12, for the autumn/winter 2013 season.

The line will include basic and on-trend garments, as well as adapting some best sellers from its women's wear collection for girls - mini-me. It will also include accessories, footwear and underwear.

The collection already has its own team of designers responsible for the different product lines (flat weave, knitwear, T-shirts, jeans and accessories), and is also creating a new management and purchasing structure for this new product.

The line will launch in 100 existing Mango stores across Spain, Germany, Andorra, Belgium, Finland, Greece, Netherlands, Switzerland and Turkey, as well as some independent high street stores.

The Mango Sport&Intimates underwear and sports clothing range will include garments for fitness, running and yoga, as well as basic underwear and lingerie. It will be available from autumn/winter 2013, initially in Spain, Turkey, France, Germany, Portugal, Russia, the UK, Italy, Switzerland, Belgium and Austria, among others. Mango plans to add 50 points of sale per year.

The fitness and running products will be made from synthetic fibres, including Lycra, while the yoga line will be made from lighter fabrics using natural fibres such as cotton and Modal. The line will also include swimwear.
