A new sourcing platform at Texprocess in Frankfurt, called Source it, will see stands of specific countries and individual contract manufacturers from apparel manufacturing nations making presentations.

Countries that have already taken an interest in participating include Egypt, Ethiopia, Kenya, Lithuania, Mauritius, Portugal, Poland, Turkey, Vietnam, Pakistan, Bangladesh and China.

The national participants present their region and the economic situation in their country whilst manufacturing companies show their technical facilities from 24 - 27 May 2011.

"For many fashion companies, procurement has become more difficult due, for example, to increasing wage costs and growing domestic demand in China. Source it! at Texprocess offers the apparel industry genuine added value because companies will be able to find out about countries where they can source manufacturing services - without having to travel around the whole world," said member of the board of management of Messe Frankfurt, Detlef Braun.

Additionally, Messe Frankfurt has entered into strategic alliances with organisation for ethical production, WRAP (Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production) and online marketplace for apparel and textile industries, MFG.com. Both WRAP and MFG.com will have stands and make presentations at Source it!
