Tailored clothing retailer Moss Bros Group Plc is searching for a new chairman after David Adams announced his resignation.

Adams, who joined the board in July 2008 after the firm saw off a takeover bid from Icelandic investment group Baugur, says he intends to pursue his other business interests.

He will leave the company on 25 March.

Moss Bros has named director Debbie Hewitt as interim chairman to work with chief executive Brian Brick on finding a permanent replacement.

The company is due to report its full-year results later this month, and says like-for-like sales are better than last year.

A year ago it posted a loss of GBP5m (US$7.29m) with like-for-like sales slipping 3.2%.
