UK: Mulberry taps Hermès director Guillon as chief executive
By Leonie Barrie | 21 December 2011
Luxury leather goods and accessories business Mulberry Group Plc today (21 December) named Hermès director Bruno Guillon as its next chief executive.
Godfrey Davis, currently chief executive and chairman of Mulberry, will continue as non-executive chairman after a three month handover that will see Guillon step into the role from 1 March 2012.
Guillon joins from French luxury brand Hermès Sellier SARL, where he has been managing director of Hermès France for the past four years. He joined Hermès in 2001 having previously worked at LVMH and Nina Ricci.
"We have planned our management succession carefully and have been actively searching for the right candidate since the beginning of this year," Davis said.
"Bruno brings with him a wealth of luxury goods experience and an ability to drive our ambitious plans for international growth."
Guillon will be working closely with creative director Emma Hill and the management team who have been responsible for the brand's recent performance.
Earlier this month Mulberry reported a 231% hike in first-half pre-tax profit to GBP15.6m, boosted by the company's focus on international expansion.
