Internet and catalogue retailer N Brown has tapped Andy Haywood as its new chief information officer as it works to transform, modernise and grow the business.

The company, whose brands include Simply Be and Jacamo, said Haywood will head up a major systems project N Brown is embarking on, designed to "step change" its capability, facilitating simpler processes, improvements for customers and ultimately underpinning ambitious growth plans.

Haywood joins the company from Co-operative Group, and prior to this, held the same role at UK pharmacy chain Boots. He also led the business integration programme of supermarket retailer Asda with its parent Wal-Mart Stores.

In his new role, Haywood will report directly to N Brown chief executive Angela Spindler.
