Vietnam's Leather and Footwear Corporation (Leaprodexim) has unveiled plans for a new $4.8 million leather and footwear material factory in the north of the country, with a second likely to follow in the south. The organisation, which represents more than 230 shoe and leather producers, said the new complex in Hai Duong province will be a base for up to companies from 2005 and will be the first of its kind in Vietnam.
