INDIA: Government takes steps to boost apparel exports

The Indian government has introduced a number of new measures aimed at boosting exports amid an uncertain global economy and slowing demand from customers in the US and EU, which it also hopes will take it closer to its goal of increasing exports to US$500bn by 2013-14.
