Up to 3,000 jobs will be created in Vietnam next year when a new $16 million garment and textile plant opens in the north of the country.

The new factory will produce goods ranging from wool, gloves and stockings to knitwear, with the items destined for the EU and Poland. Work on the massive project began last week and is expected to take around seven months to complete.

The new plant will cover 5.2 hectares and is the brainchild of The AP Vietnam Joint Stock Company and Poland's Polmode - Spotka group.
