US: New York & Co appoints vice president of design

Women's apparel retailer New York & Company Inc has hired Sarah Elsom Eustis from Polo Ralph Lauren as its new executive vice president of design.

Ms Eustis will have overall responsibility for the design of all New York & Company apparel.

"Sarah has a strong creative vision, and we are looking forward to the impact she will have on the design of our future collections," said Richard P Crystal, New York & Company's chairman and CEO.

Ms Eustis most recently served as senior vice president, merchandising, at Polo Ralph Lauren. Prior to this, she was executive vice president, design for the Express brand.

New York & Co operates 596 retail stores in 44 states.
