US: New York & Co names Gregory Scott as CEO

Women's fashion retailer New York & Company Inc has promoted its president, Gregory Scott, to the position of chief executive officer.

His appointment follows the retirement of chairman and chief executive officer Richard P Crystal, who is leaving the company next week.

Grace Nichols, who has served as a director since March 2008, will assume the role of non-executive chair of the board.

Mr Scott, who previously served as CEO of Bebe Stores before joining New York & Co in June 2010, will remain a director of New York & Company's Board, which will be comprised of ten members.
