Sportswear and athletic shoe giant Nike Inc has agreed a multi-year corporate licensing deal with leading provider of business intelligence tools, Brio Software Inc.

The Oregon-based company said its 22,200 employees will now have access to Brio products that are used in operations including e-commerce, logistics, transportation, strategic account management and product creation.

"Brio is a widely used business intelligence tool at Nike because of its easy to use interface that allows users to directly access data," said chief information officer Gordon Steele. "With Brio, users are free to get their own data and do their own analysis and reporting."

Brian Gentile, EVP and chief marketing officer for Brio Software, added: "Brio's flexible architecture makes it easy and cost effective for IT to deploy a single solution to meet a wide spectrum of needs.

"Nike pushes standard reports out to some users, while empowering other users to pull, or request and build their own custom reports."
