Textile maker Oriental Linen & Cotton has posted a net loss of US$3.9 million for the first half, narrowed from a loss of US$5.8m in the same period last year.

The Egyptian company, which has registered losses for the past two fiscal years, also reported 10.4 per cent year-on-year growth in interest expenses to US$2.5m for the six-month period.

Operating revenue, however, jumped 10.3 per cent year-on-year for the first half to US$3.3m.
