Apparel maker Kellwood Company has named Brenda Palmer as its new vice president of licensing to oversee strategic licensing opportunities for the apparel maker's brands.

Palmer, who has more than 30 years' experience in the apparel and consumer goods sector, will initially work with Kellwood's Vince brand to launch the division's licensing platform.

She joins from NexCen Brands, where she was vice president of licensing and brand development, helping to establish brand development and licensing structure for all of its acquisitions and franchised businesses.

Kellwood chairman, president and CEO Robert C Skinner Jr said he was delighted to welcome Palmer to the company.

"Her broad experience and knowledge in developing licensing opportunities will add significant value to Kellwood as we expand our presence in the industry and further establish our brands' licensing growth potential," he added.

"She is a dynamic leader and I am pleased to be collaborating with her."

"I look forward to working with Kellwood's management team to further advance the company's growth by building key licensing alliances and partnerships," said Palmer.
