Casual apparel maker Pantorama Industries Inc has posted a third quarter net loss of C$315,000, compared to a net income of C$60,000 in the same period a year ago.

The Montreal-based company, which also saw third quarter sales dip to C$25.3 million from C$29.9m last year, attributed the poor results to continued weakness in the retail apparel sector.

The jeans maker has now announced plans to close unprofitable stores and undertake other cost-cutting measures in an effort to improve performance.
