US/JAPAN: Patagonia teams with Toray for recycled apparel

US outdoor goods firm Patagonia is to team up with Japanese textile firm Toray Industries for a line of recycled nylon apparel.
Toray will produce the nylon using "irregular products" left over from nylon manufacturing, reported Kyodo News, while Patagonia will launch men's work trousers and surfboard shorts using the material.
The trousers will reportedly be available from autumn 2007 and the shorts from the following spring in 2,000 stores globally.
