UK fashion retailer Peacocks has reported gross profit of GBP111.6m (US$177m) for last financial year, up from GBP98.5m in the prior year.

The retailer boosted sales by 7.6% to GBP526.7m for the 53 weeks ended 3 April 2010, according to company filings this week. Like-for-like sales fell by 0.4% during the fiscal year, with the company opening 30 new stores.

Peacocks reported "very strong sales" from stores in Russia and the Ukraine.
 
The company said that during the period between 30 and 50 women's wear lines arrived in store every week.

It also said that online sales grew by 70% during the period.
