New York-headquartered fashion house Polo Ralph Lauren Corp on Monday announced the appointment of Liz Claiborne's Don Baum as senior vice president of global manufacturing, effective November 3.

The company said Baum will be responsible for further developing and managing the company's global manufacturing division and work with Polo's distribution and information services divisions to implement integrated supply chain management strategies.

He was most recently vice president/group manufacturing director for Liz Claiborne brands and prior to his nine years there was head of the manufacturing team at the men's and women's apparel company Go Silk.

It added he replaces Frank Attwood who left Polo to pursue other interests.

"I am pleased that Don will be joining our company. His proven track record in managing a global manufacturing operation, coupled with his 25 years of experience in producing men's and women's apparel will be of great value as we continue to develop our global manufacturing capabilities in the United States, Asia and Europe," said Roger Farah, president and COO.
