Italian fashion firm Prada is to offload a 5% equity stake to Banca Intesa and is also reportedly considering a listing in 2008.

Intesa will take the stake via underwriting a EUR100m (US$132.39m) capital increase.

Simultaneously, lenders including Intesa are extending a EUR200m loan to Prada's holding firm ITMD Investment BV.

According to local press reports, Prada is mulling a listing but has not yet agreed on a schedule.

The company has already axed IPO plans several times in the last few years.
