Retail giant Neiman Marcus Group Inc has posted a 23 per cent jump in third quarter net income to $47 million compared with $38.2m in the year-ago period. The company, which operates Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman stores, said the results include a $16.6m gain for a change in vacation policy but an $8.2m pre-tax charge to write off the net carrying value of its investment in an Internet bridal-registry service.
