US: Quiksilver promotes Holbrook to brand development role

By | 6 June 2007

Tom Holbrook, a 29-year veteran of Quiksilver, has been promoted to the new post of executive vice president of strategic brand development.

Holbrook, who was most recently executive VP of sales for the Quiksilver Brands, will report to Marty Samuels, president of Quiksilver Americas.

He will serve as senior liaison and ambassador to key wholesale customers throughout the Americas region, and will work towards establishing a new core account programme for top retail partners. He will work with both Quiksilver and Roxy to maximise their penetration in the region.

"Tom has been and will continue to be a key contributor as we move forward and achieve our aggressive growth goals within the Quiksilver Americas region," said Samuels.

"Tom's new position recognises the importance of focusing critical resources on our most important wholesale and specialty customers and the impact they contribute to our overall success."

Describing Holbrook as "the foremost 'authentic' board rider" within the company's senior management, Quiksilver said he will also work with the company's personnel to foster a better understanding of the company culture.

In addition to Quiksilver and Roxy, the Huntington Beach, California-based firm's brand roster includes DC Shoes, Hawk, Rossignol, Radio Fiji and Leilani.
