Wayne Meichner, president and COO of Ralph Lauren Retail Group, is to leave the business after 12 years.

Meichner joined the company in 2002 from Saks Fifth Avenue, where he served as executive vice president of merchandising.

At Ralph Lauren, he was president of Polo Ralph Lauren Retail Stores before being promoted to president and COO of Polo Retail Group in 2008.

In addition, Ralph Lauren confirmed the appointment of Joy Herfel to group president of wholesale and retail for the Americas.

The moves come two weeks after Valérie Hermann, former CEO of Reed Krakoff, was appointed to the newly-created role of president of Ralph Lauren Luxury Collections
