Reebok is bringing back its 'pump' technology in an exclusive agreement with Venator Group (NYSE: Z), the world's largest athletic specialty retailer. Foot Locker as well as Kids Foot Locker, Champs Sports, Eastbay and Footlocker.com will debut The Pump Scheme basketball shoe, which is one of several styles to be introduced at retail throughout the year.

The Pump technology was initially introduced at retail in 1989, and quickly became one of the industry's most successful footwear technologies

"Reebok is excited to bring The Pump technology back. It is a great opportunity to reintroduce the technology to today's young consumer," said Bob Munroe, senior vice president and general manager of Reebok North America. "We are offering the same great technology, comfort and fit with a contemporary style and design consistent with Reebok's new design direction, which has tested extremely well with the consumer," continued Munroe.

"We worked closely with Reebok to develop an integrated marketing program to generate additional excitement for the re-launch of The Pump technology," said Matthew D. Serra, president and CEO of Venator Group. "Through television advertising combined with in-store support, consumers will know that they can only get the latest styles featuring The Pump technology at our athletic stores."
