INDIA: Reebok “poised to launch Classics range”

Sporting goods giant Reebok is poised to launch its Reebok Classics range in India, opening up to 75 separate retail stores by next March, according to local press reports.

The Economic Times of India quoted Reebok India MD Subhinder Singh Prem as saying that the company is targeting revenues of INR14bn (US$321m) by the next year-end.

The company is set to roll out Reebok Classics lines in the men's wear and women's wear sectors, employing international cricketer Yuvraj Singh and Bollywood actress and model Bipasha Basu to publicise the launch.

According to the reports, the Classics lines will include lifestyle apparel for dance, biking, street style and NFL sports gear.

Reebok is also set to launch designer products from actress Scarlett Johansson and Indian wicketkeeper Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

Reebok failed to respond to just-style requests for comment on the reports.
