US: Retail Ventures CEO to leave in January

Retail Ventures Inc, the off-price retailer that operates the Filene's Basement and DSW stores, has decided not to renew its employment agreement with president and chief executive officer Heywood Wilansky.

As a result Wilansky, who is a director of RVI and also a director of its majority-owned subsidiary DSW Inc, will cease working for the company on 31 January 2009.

The decision has been taken as part of a cost-cutting move after the company sold an 81% stake in its Value City Department Stores business in January.

Wilansky has headed Retail Ventures since November 2004.
