US: Russell Athletic signs pro volleyball apparel deal

Athletic apparel company Russell Athletic has signed a three year deal to sponsor the AVP Pro Beach Volleyball tour in the US.

Russell will also serve as a sponsor for AVP Crocs Tour events over the next three years, a statement said.

"Russell Athletic is proud to partner with the AVP, the premier pro beach volleyball tour," said Gary Barfield, EVP of Russell Athletic. "This relationship provides Russell Athletic the opportunity to showcase our authentic licensed products on a national platform."

As licensee of AVP, Russell will produce branded clothing and merchandise for on-site and online distribution.
