USA: Saucony Q2 Profit Jumps 44%, Sales Down

Athletic shoe and apparel maker Saucony Inc on Tuesday posted a 44 per cent climb in second quarter net income from the year-ago period despite sluggish sales and raised its full year outlook. The Massachusetts-headquartered company, whose brands include Saucony, Hind and Spot-bilt, reported net income of $2.2 million, or 35 cents per share, compared to $1.5m, or 25 cents, in the same period of 2002.
