Japanese supermarket chain Seiyu Ltd on Monday revealed plans to sell the hit George clothing label in its stores.

Chief executive Masao Kiuchi said his firm, the country's fifth largest grocery retailer, will begin selling a limited range of the UK-designed fashions next spring.

The value-priced brand is currently sold in five countries including Asda in UK and parent Wal-Mart in the US.

Founded by George Davies more than a decade ago, the private-label is also sold at scores of stores in South Korea and Germany.
