UK: Shareholder Ross buys Cosalt's Ballyclare workwear unit
By Leonie Barrie | 13 March 2013
The majority shareholder in administration-hit Cosalt Plc has bought out the company's Ballyclare Limited workwear business.
The unit, which supplies apparel to emergency services and industrial users, operates primarily from Stockport, with an operation in Barnsley and two distribution centres in the South East. It has 58 employees.
"We are very pleased to announce the sale of the shares in Ballyclare Limited, the remaining part of the group's trading business to David Ross," said David Kelly, joint administrator and partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
"After careful consideration and deliberation the administrators feel that this represents the best outcome both for creditors of Cosalt Plc and for the workwear business, delivering a more secure future for the business and its employees."
