Children's shoe manufacturer Bibi is to spend R$3 million on expanding production capacity at its plant in Cruz das Almas.

The company says the investment should generate a 25 per cent increase in sales in 2002, to R$88m. Output should rise to 5.1 million pairs of shoes.

In 2001, Bibi made 4.2 million pairs with a turnover of R$68.5 million.
