Foreign dealers and Korean textile firms have been forced to look elsewhere for a supply of high-elastic fibre following a protracted strike at global spandex leader, Taekwang Industrial. Taekwang Industrial has suspended production since June 12 when its union started the strike. Now dealers in Hong Kong have increased spandex orders with Taekwang's rivals, the Hyosung Corporation and the Tongkook Corporation, since late June and they have also asked the rivals to increase spandex supply.
