US: Stage Stores appoints Glazer permanent CEO

By | 19 April 2012

Discount department store retailer Stage Stores has today (19 April) named Michael Glazer as permanent CEO and president.

Last month, the company appointed Glazer to the role on an interim basis, replacing Andy Hall.

Glazer has served as a director of the company since August 2001, and is stepping down as CEO and president of Mattress Giant Corp, to focus on leading Stage Stores on a full-time basis.

"Given his rapid, well-received integration into the company and his familiarity with our growth and expansion strategy, it became clear the company and its shareholders would be best served by making his appointment permanent," said William Montgoris, chairman of the board of Stage Stores.
