Stood down workers at Tamar Knitting Mills are unlikely to get their jobs back or to be paid the A$35,000 in entitlements still owed to them by mill owner Ian Thompson. Mr Thompson said yesterday that the company's financial situation had worsened since November, when the 15 employees were originally stood down. Confidential talks with his bank had failed to produce further funds. Talks continue with two interested buyers however, though the mill is likely to close down if they fall through.
