If Coventry's clothing sector is to remain competitive with overseas producers, manufacturers must come to grips with new technology, said the chairman of the Coventry Clothing Manufacturers Association. Mr Karamjit Virk, who is also managing director of KB Clothing, is promoting the CW2000 scheme, set up last year to assist companies wishing to increase their competitiveness in the market place through the use of new technology, including the Internet. The scheme includes a subsidised package of IT software and hardware, supported by technical advice.
